Large parts of Bonaire are at risk of becoming permanently submerged. Coral reefs and cultural heritage may disappear within decades, while extreme weather and heatwaves are expected to increase illness and mortality. These impacts threaten not only nature, but daily life, the economy, and the people of Bonaire.

All images are shot on discontinued medium-format instant film, carrying the same sense of urgency and disappearance that defines the island itself.
